The Morton Arboretum is one of those dream locations where you hope to capture people’s photos. There is an element of enchanted-ness to having your wedding photos taken at the arboretum. If you aren’t a member, there is an entrance fee, but it is totally worth it to have your pictures taken there. It’s actually worth it if you just want to take a stroll and embrace the beauty of the foliage there and at certain parts, throw yourself into the dense silence of nature.

When Brently and Megan asked me to photograph their wedding at the arboretum, I was ecstatic. I’ve been wanting to photograph a wedding at the arboretum ever since my wife and I had our engagement photos taken there 7 years ago.

I took Megan and Brently’s engagement photos arboretum, but we had done those photos on the East path in the arboretum, and in order to make sure that their photos did not look the same, we went on the complete opposite path for their wedding photos. I took their engagement photos in more of the open air parts of the arboretum, so I wanted to capture the essence of the woods in the arboretum for their wedding day.

From the moment I met them at a Starbucks, I knew that their love was authentic, and it was obvious in their engagement photos. On their wedding day…just wow! Their love was palpable and on display for all to see. Any sort of vulnerability about their emotions was tossed out the window, and everyone was witness to the special relationship that these two have.
